The Reporter newspaper family will be growing again in September. The Issaquah and Sammamish Reporter newspapers will begin delivery to homes and businesses in and around those communities on Friday, Sept. 14. A total of 32,100 copies will be distributed every Friday morning.
The Reporter newspaper group is operated by King County Publications Ltd. (KCP), a subsidiary of Sound Publishing, Inc.
“We are very excited about launching community newspapers in Issaquah and Sammamish.” said Don Kendall, general manager of King County Publications. “The focus of the Issaquah and Sammamish papers will be on local news, sports and features.”
Renee Walden has been named as publisher of the Issaquah and Sammamish Reporters. Renee has about 10 years of experience in the publishing industry.
Kendall said, “There are dozens of options for people who want information about regional, national or international news. But, only community newspapers inform people about what is happening on their street.”
KCP newspapers are currently published in Bothell/Kenmore, Kirkland, Redmond, Bellevue, Mercer Island, Snoqualmie, Renton, Kent, Auburn, Covington/Maple Valley and Sumner/Lake Tapps.
Sound Publishing also owns two papers in King County: the Federal Way Mirror and the Vashon-Maury Island Beachcomber.
Kendall said, “This fills an important hole in our King County distribution. We can now provide a circulation of more than 330,000 copies for our clients.”
