Newspaper Reporter (Aberdeen, WA)

A rare opportunity has surfaced on the Washington Coast with a reporter opening at The Daily World in Aberdeen.

The position opened up when one of our longtime staffers decided to retire and go explore the globe. As a result, we are looking for an adventurous and ambitious soul who wants to live and work in the “Gateway to the Olympic Peninsula.”

The right candidate needs to be a strong storyteller, comfortable chatting with people and able to write 8-10 stories a week in a region ripe with stories to be told.  Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

And when you are not working at one of the coolest daily newspapers on the planet, of this we are certain, there is plenty to explore in Grays Harbor County.

The region is ripe with outdoor adventure. We are surrounded by bike and hiking trails, lakes, rivers, trees and ocean — it never gets old. So, if you think you fit the bill then please send your resume and at least three clips to Daily World Editor Wyatt Haupt Jr. at wyatt.haupt@thedailyworld.com.

Please also include your salary requirements. Salary is $35,000 depending on experience. And, because we are good sports and realize it is expensive to move, we also offer a relocation allowance.
