An exciting opportunity has emerged on the scenic and sometimes temperamental Washington Coast with a Reporter opening at The Daily World in Aberdeen.
This reporting position opened up after a longtime staff writer left the often animated confines of the newsroom for an unbelievably cushy gig in the regional government sector. As a result, we are on the hunt for an ambitious and spirited soul who wants to live and work in this old fishing and logging town known as the “Gateway to the Olympic Peninsula.”
The reporting position is a key part of our plan to broaden coverage of Grays Harbor County, as well as the Washington Legislature. The right candidate needs to be a strong storyteller, comfortable chatting with people and able to write 8-10 stories a week in a region ripe with stories to be told.
Our next Reporter will join an energetic newsroom staff that we scoured the country to bring out west — that’s no joke as the two Reporters we hired last year are graduates of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois, and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
