Sound Publishing is pleased to announce the promotion of Carrie Rodriguez as Regional Editor of the Kirkland Reporter and the Bothell/Kenmore Reporter. Carrie will assume her new editorial responsibilities on Oct 1.

Carrie Rodriguez began her career with Sound Publishing in 2006 as a news clerk after graduating from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in communications and a second degree in English. In that role, she compiled calendar of events, birth announcements and obituaries for all of the Reporter newspapers, while also reporting for the various publications.

Rodriguez quickly moved on several months later to take a reporting positing with the Bellevue Reporter, where she covered city news, schools, arts, business and more for a couple of years.

She was promoted in 2008 to editor of the Kirkland Reporter, where she has won several SPJ and WNPA awards.

Rodriguez is also a mother of four, including her 17-year-old stepson, 16-year-old son, 14-year-old daughter and her three-week-old daughter. She is currently on maternity leave and looks forward to assuming her new role as regional editor when she returns on Oct. 1.
