Sound Publishing, Inc. is the largest community new organization in Washington State and is currently looking for an experienced Press Maintenance Technician based out of our state of the art Printing/Mailing facility in beautiful Lakewood, WA.

ABOUT THIS POSITION:

This position is on the evening shift shift and is Full-Time, approximately 40 hrs per week. Start times will be around 3-5 pm. The schedule varies and requires flexibility based on business needs.

The job requires:

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining and repairing all pressroom equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform maintenance on all Press Room equipment; identify, diagnose and repair Press Room equipment. This requires:

  • Ability to communicate with press crews, Department Head, and Lead Maintenance Technician regarding current and future press repairs.
  • Ability to identify and correct electrical issues within machinery
  • Ability to make all on the spot repairs when needed and keep accurate records of maintenance completed.
  • Ability to setup press for all types of printed product
  • Ability to recognize and correct problems with offset printing presses
  • Ability to set and adjust ink and water balance
  • Ability to set color to proof and gray bar
  • Ability to set register of four-color printing
  • Ability to set and adjust press rollers
  • Ability to setup and adjust press folders
  • Ability to work safely and understand safety procedures involved in the operation of printing presses
  • Ability to work with other members of a crew

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must understand all aspects of printing
  • Must have strong electrical knowledge
  • Must be willing to understand of all aspects of maintenance and repairs of offset printing presses.
  • Must be trained in Sound Publishing’s Safety and Lockout tag out procedures.
  • Must be trained and able to operate a forklift.
