HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST – Sound Publishing, Western Washington State’s premier community newspaper/media company, is now accepting applications for a Human Resources Generalist to be based out of our Port Angeles, WA office on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula. The ideal candidate will have experience in a wide variety of HR components (on-boarding, worker’s compensation, OSHA compliance/reporting, leaves and ADA compliance, 401k plan administration, EEOC compliance/reporting) with a heavy emphasis on Leaves administration and Unemployment benefits admin/processing. The candidate will also have experience with administering policies and procedures, daily documentation, as well as compliance with all employment laws and record-keeping, etc.
Seeking a highly motivated self-starter who is adept at handling multiple competing priorities and duties in a fast-paced, results-driven, rapidly changing environment. This is a small HR department (2-3) and requires a significant amount of daily administrative taskwork.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ progressive HR Generalist experience.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or HRCI certification.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience with Leave Administration and Unemployment Claims Processing including the WA State WorkShare Program.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 20lbs at times.
- Must be able to travel to each of the company’s multiple locations in WA State as well as access, and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
Also required, valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and maintain adequate liability insurance on the vehicle you use for company business.
