PAGE DESIGNER – Sound Publishing, the largest newspaper publisher in the Pacific Northwest, seeks a journalist with proven print news design skills for a pagination hub in Everett, Washington that’s responsible for four daily newspapers, nine weekly papers and a quarterly glossy magazine in Washington state and Alaska. We’re looking for someone who will be our primary Page Designer; who will bring bold, eye-grabbing presentation to our daily print pages and award-winning enterprise journalism.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
The successful applicant must have at least two years of newspaper experience, possess mastery of InDesign and proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator, and thrive in a collaborative, digital-first newsroom. Solid news judgment is required, as are copy-editing and headline- and caption-writing skills.
WORK SCHEDULE
Typically, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm; however, hours and days will vary in order to accomplish the required tasks and may require coming in early, staying late, or working weekends on occasion. It is critical that the person in this position be both reliable and flexible.
