The Daily Herald is seeking a reporter to cover local cops and courts stories in Snohomish County. We’re looking for a clear writer with strong storytelling skills. If you’ve worked much with alternative story forms, that’s a big plus. You should also be comfortable taking photos and videos.
This position requires someone who is self-directed, capable of working independently, but also capable of working collaboratively with others to get the job.
We want someone able to conceptualize strong story ideas, identify, collect, verify and analyze newsworthy information and craft well-developed, well-told stories and projects. The position requires 3 or more years of journalism or journalism-related experience.
The Daily Herald, with the website HeraldNet.com, has been the leading news and information source in Snohomish County, Washington, for more than a century. We are in Everett, a vibrant and growing community 30 miles north of downtown Seattle, framed by breathtaking views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains to the west and the Cascade Range to the east.
The position is full-time and the starting rate per hour is $20.50.
